The internet is an important tool in our day to day activities. However, it is also a haven for money con artists. The following are 5 ways to spot an online money scammer;
Harassment or Being Pressured Into Something
If you are being pressured or harassed to join or sign up for something first assume it’s a scam. A legit product or service does not put unnecessary pressure tactic to entice you.
Don’t waste your precious time or money. You have the right to make your own informed decision.
The Offer is Not Clear
If you come across an opportunity or product on the internet, always make sure you understand what the offer is all about. Any opportunity of making money online should be clear and precise.
If it looks dodgy to you or there are no clear answers to it, kindly treat it as an online money scam.
Randomly Picked or Chosen Through Email/Phone call
This method is among the biggest scams out there that people have fallen victim to. If you get an offer via email or a phone with various promises of opportunities, chances are it’s a scam.
No one is going to wire you any money if you send them your bank details or pay a small fee. It’s a scam and you will end up on the losing side.
You Need to Install a Software
Many online money scams are pushed by hackers who are trying to get your information. Be wary of installing unknown software on your phone or pc. This malware-laden software will tie you up in a large cyber-crime syndicate.
No Website or Contact Information
It’s always important to do your own personal thorough online research before engaging in any online activity. Find out if the website is legit or the contact information is working. A physical address is also important to note.
An Online money scammer can be anywhere in the internet. If any of this information is missing then this should be red flag.
