Safaricom’s mobile money Mpesa allows you to easily bank with ABSA bank at the click of a button from anywhere at any time. This is made possible through the Absa bank M-pesa paybill number.

ABSA Bank, formerly Barclays bank makes it easier for their clients to bank using Absa Paybill number, 303030.

The Bank is one of the oldest banking institutions in Kenya with over 120 branches across the country. The bank’s main office is found along Waiyaki Way, Nairobi.

To make a transaction from your Mpesa account to an ABSA bank account you simply have to know the bank account number and the Paybill number.

How to Send Money from Mpesa to ABSA Bank Account

  • Ensure that you have a registered Safaricom line with an Mpesa account and of course a working ABSA account.
  • Open the Mpesa menu on your sim tool kit or you can open the Safaricom or Mpesa App.
  • Pick the Lipa na Mpesa option.
  • Choose Paybill.
  • Key in 303030 as the business number.
  • Enter the amount that you want to deposit into your account.
  • Key in your Mpesa pin number and press okay.
  • Your details will pop up on the screen. Confirm if they are all correct to enable the transaction to clear.
  • Immediately, you will receive confirmation messages from ABSA bank as well as Mpesa.

It’s essential to note that the maximum amount of cash you can deposit from your Mpesa account to Absa is capped at Kshs 150,000 for a single transaction. It can only be done twice in a space of 24 hours.

Additionally, this transaction can be made from anywhere in the world as long as you have an account number and Mpesa account.
