Design
The chassis and lids of ASUS ZenBook Flip 13 is made of aluminum alloy with Pine Grey color and the unique asymmetric -circle ZenBook finish is featured on the lids, presenting a surface that is soothing and sophisticated in appearance. ASUS ZenBook Flip 13 weighs only 1.3 kg and features a profile of less than 14 mm, which results in a sleek form factor that’s easy to carry.
ASUS ZenBook Flip 13 features the exclusive 360° ErgoLift hinge design, which allows the display to be flipped to any position, according to the usage requirement. The hinge is durability tested for over 20,000 open/close cycles.
The ErgoLift design tilts the keyboard automatically when the laptop is opened. This design not only allows you to type more comfortably, but also increases the ventilation space under the chassis for improved heat dissipation.
ASUS ZenBook Flip 13 has an optional ASUS Pen (SA201) active stylus accessory that supports 4096 levels pressure sensitivity and MPP 2.0, allowing users to create more detailed and vivid works.
Screen, Keyboard+Trackpad
Edge-to-edge full-sized, backlit keyboard – An edge-to-edge design utilizes all space in the compact form factor of ZenBook Flip 13. The keyboard achieves a 19.05 mm pitch (the distance between the middle of a key to the middle of its adjacent key) while retaining many commonly used function keys, enabling users to type comfortably with accuracy. The keyboard is backlit for convenient typing in dark environments such as flights.
Independent function keys–The keyboard also includes Home, Page Up, Page Down, and End functional keys. This allows users to perform functions with one hand (because it does not require them to also press the Fn key). This improves efficiency for activities such as reading or scanning documents.
Extra-useful Hotkeys & Fn key with a lock option–– The ZenBook Flip 13 UX363 includes several dedicated hotkeys. You can use these to capture any part of the screen with a single tap, easily switch the webcam off, or lock the system in an instant for extra privacy. The ZenBook Flip 13 UX363 also includes an Fn key with a lock option, allowing users to quickly switch between hotkey functions or general F1-F12 key functions by pressing the Fn + Esc keys at the same time. It also includes a built-in LED light on the Fn key to indicate when the general F1-F12 functions are enabled. When the light is turned off, the hotkey functions are enabled.
Performance
With thin and light form factors, ASUS ZenBook Flip 13 is equipped with the 11th gen Intel® Core™ processors. It also supports up to 16 GB of memory and a 1TB PCIe® 3.0 NVMe™ SSD as well as Thunderbolt™ 4, HDMI 1. 4 and USB 3.2 Gen 1 Type-A ports. All of these options ensure comprehensive connectivity.
To give ZenBook Flip 13 unsurpassed audio capabilities, the ASUS Golden Ear team cooperated with audio specialists Harman Kardon to produce high-quality stereo speaker experience and surround-sound effects that envelop you with cinema-quality audio. A special smart amplifier ensures maximum volume with minimum distortion for powerful, clear sound.
ASUS added a new IR camera algorithm to the new ZenBook Flip 13 UX363, which not only provides sharper image quality, but also achieves more accurate white balance and color saturation. The new IR camera algorithm also enhances portrait photography performance, when the user uses the IR camera in a dark or complex light environment, the new IR camera algorithm can still automatically correct the exposure value and color balance of the face area, so that the user’s skin color can maintain a natural bright rendering effect.
Battery Life
ZenBook Flip 13 uses a high-capacity battery that won’t let you down, however long and demanding your working day is. It can last for 14 hrs without charging. Its’ fast-charge technology lets you recharge to 60% capacity in as little as 49 minutes, so you can be up and running quicker than ever.
Conclusion
If you’re looking for a premium 2-in-1 laptop that feels snappy and runs silently with everyday use, a device that lasts for a fair while on a charge and doesn’t cost an arm and a leg, this ZenBook Flip UX363 should be on your list, especially in the more affordable i5/IPS configurations. However, if you’re looking for a beefy Tiger Lake ultrabook that can handle games and demanding loads, or if you’ve got big hands, this might not be for you
