A driveshaft is a cylindrical shaft that is responsible for the transition of torque from the engine to the wheels. They are particularly found on rear-wheel drive vehicles and interlink the back of the transmission to the driveshaft. Driveshafts are equally balanced and weighted parts because they turn at very high speeds in order to turn the wheels. Any issue arising from the driveshaft then the movement of the vehicle becomes a problem.

Turning Difficulties
When you have issues making turns then chances are you have a bad shaft. The reason could be the u-joint. A malfunctioning u-joint can hinder the wheels from easily turning, this makes it hard to control the vehicle.
Vibrations under the Vehicle
One of the easiest ways to notice that a driveshaft has an issue is the intense shaking that can be felt coming underneath the vehicle. Malfunctioning or worn out couplers, u-joints or carrier bearings can be the cause of this. The solution to this is having these components serviced, failure to which further damage occurs.
Loud Clunking Noises
When you are driving your vehicle and you hear loud clanking noises then there is a high possibility that you are in trouble. This indicates that the driveshaft has a problem. The most notable reason may be a worn out u-joint.
Squeaking Noises
These squeaking noises are annoying and can be heard even at low speeds. The main reason is that the u-joints need to be lubricated. Greasing them will stop the sounds. However, the u-joint should be observed for any sign of wear.
Shuddering While Accelerating
Feeling a huge amount of shuddering while accelerating from low speed or even while stopped is a sign that a driveshaft is failing. A loose u-joint or a bad center bearing within the driveshaft may be the reason.
