It’s very important to know how to block a number on your Android device. This may be implemented on either a stranger or that one nuisance friend that you don’t want to hear from. I have listed ways in which you can do this below whether you have saved the number or not.
Blocking the Number from your Contacts

Visit the contacts on your phone
Open your phone and open the contacts app. This varies according to different android devices. When you open the app, tap on contacts.

Open the contact
Search for the contact that you want to block on your Android. On the contact, tap the 3 dots that are there. On other devices, you can find the encircled ‘i’ button. When you tap either of these, it will give you a list of options. From the menu, click the ‘Block numbers’ one.
The phone will bring a boxout and will bring an option to report the contact as spam. Hit the block button once you choose either of the given options.
Blocking a Number from Recent Calls

Visit the recent in your phone app
Open your phone, and on the home screen, find and open the phone app. This also depends on your Android device, but it’s fairly easy to find.
Click recent to find the number that you want to block.

Look up the number that you want to stop from contacting you and then long-press it. You will be offered a menu that gives you different options. Samsung devices will need you to tap the number and click on the encircled ‘i’ symbol.
On the given menu, you can find the block or report option and click on either.
How to Unblock a Contact or Number
Open the settings on the phone app and click on the blocked numbers option. Choose the details of the number that you want to unblock.
