At times your number can get into the wrong hands and this is always followed by unwanted phone calls or texts that can be annoying. This can be from a known or unknown number. The following is a guide on how to block a number on iPhone.
Blocking the Number from the Contacts App

Locate the contacts app
First and foremost, you need to locate the contacts app. It is a green tile with a white handset icon. It is a default feature that is found on your iPhone’s home.
Find the number that you want to block. This can be a number that has just contacted you or one that is on your phonebook.

Look up the number’s profile
If the person you are to block is on your contacts, tap their name and open their contact profile.
On the other hand, if the individual is from a recent unknown number, hit the encircled ‘i’ button. It is found on the right of the call log and it will lead you to the profile of the contact.

Block the individual
If you scroll down the user profile, you will see a button that is labelled ‘Block this caller’. Tap that button to block them.
Blocking the Number from the Settings App

Go to the settings app
When you need to see a list of blocked contacts, head to the settings app of your device. You should note that if you want to use this method, you have to save the number first.
Move down to the fifth group of the settings menu and tap ‘phone’.

Look at your blocked contacts
Move down until you get to the group of options that include ‘Blocked Contacts’ and select it.
Here, you will come across a list of contacts that you had ever blocked. You will see the ‘Add new’ option at the end of this list. You can now block a contact that is saved on your iPhone. Choose the name and it will be blocked.
