Do you have some apps on your Android phone you don’t want others to see or access? You may have some personal or sensitive apps that you would like to hide from prying eyes, or you may want to hide the apps you use less frequently to keep your home screen tidy. Whatever your reason, you can easily hide apps on your Android phone without having to uninstall them.

In this article, we share some of the most effective ways to hide apps on your Android phone. They include using your device’s built-in features and third-party apps. This will not only help keep your sensitive information safe but also make your home screen more organized.

1. Remove apps from the home screen

Removing apps from the home screen is the easiest way to hide apps on your Android phone. However, the apps will still be accessible in the app drawer. This will only help to make your home screen organized but not to secure your sensitive information.

2. Install a launcher with a “Hidden Apps” feature

Some launchers have a feature for hiding apps and setting a password to protect them from unauthorized access. A good example is Microsoft Launcher. You can install the app on Google Play Store and hide apps that contain your private information like banking apps, social media apps, Gmail, and many more.

To hide apps on your Android phone using Microsoft launcher, first install it and set it as the default home app. Open the app drawer and tap the three dots at the top-right corner, then select “Hidden apps”. Set the password and start adding apps to the hidden apps section. You will have to enter your password every time you need to access the hidden apps.

3. Disable apps

Some apps come pre-installed on Android phones. Most of them might not be helpful to you, yet you won’t be able to uninstall them because they are system apps. To hide these apps, you can disable them to make them disappear from your home screen or app drawer. Also, disabling apps will prevent them from running in the background but you can still enable them later.

To disable an app, go to “Settings” and select “Apps Management” then “App List”. Tap on the app you want to disable, then select “Disable”. A warning message will pop up informing you that disabling the app may cause other apps to misbehave. Tap “Disable app” to proceed.

Note that not all apps can be disabled. This feature only works for apps that came pre-installed on your device.

With the above methods, you can hide apps on your android phone to keep your sensitive information safe or make your home screen and app drawer less cluttered.
