How to Register a local Non-Profit Organisation in Kenya
This process to register a non-profit organization in Kenya is simple, easy, and entails the following;
Name Search and Reservation
The process of searching for a name is fast and effective in all Huduma Centers in Kenya. You just need Kshs 300 for this. A two week waiting period then follows.
During the reservation period, fill in FORM 2 and pay Kshs 1,000 which is the processing expense.
Present the documents to the registry. They will take care of the search and endorse the picked names. If rejected, you will be given reasons. The registry will reserve the name for 30-60 days if approved.
The Registration Process
- After the name search and reservation is handled, a formal application is made for registration.
- The applicant provides a properly filled FORM 3 with two duplicates of the same. Essential information should be provided here too. This includes; contact information of the organization, information of the top 3 authorities, the goal of the organization, and information about the rest of the members.
