Oppo Reno8 5G is an excellent device if you are on a budget. The phone has everything that you need. It looks great, performs well, charges faster, and has a good camera.

Oppo Reno8 5G

A new member of the Oppo Reno series, the Reno8 5G, has a unique design and camera that makes it stand out. The on-paper specifications should not lie to you. For that price, the results are incredible.

Moreover, Oppo has focused on performance as well. They have used a chipset that is not the same as other devices in that similar segment. The smartphone comes with MediaTek Dimensity 1300 SoC.

Price and Availability

The Reno8 comes in two colours, glazed black and shimmer gold. The smartphone is available in most places. This includes Amazon, Oppo stores and licenced Oppo dealers.

The price is between KES 55,000-57,000 depending on where you buy.

Display and Design

The Reno8 5G has a 6.43-inch AMOLED panel with a refresh rate of 90Hz. Moreover, it comes with an aspect ratio of 20:9 with great viewing angles and sunlight legibility. It also has a screen protector in the box.

Performance

The Oppo Reno8 5G has excellent performance capabilities due to the MediaTek Dimensity 1300 SoC.

Camera

One of the key features of this device is its camera. The triple camera setup at the back comes with a 50MP Primary shooter powered by a Sony IMX766 sensor. Additionally, there is the usual 8MP ultra-wide and 2MP macro snapper as secondaries.

Selfies are great during the day with the Oppo Reno8 5G. However, the images in the front camera are not so great in a low light setting.

Video recordings top at 4K at 30 fps for the back camera and 1080p at 30 fps. 60fps can also be achieved but is limited to 1080p for the rear camera.

Battery, Speaker and Other Features

The battery lasts a day or so and comes with 80W fast charging, which goes from 0%-100% in 35 minutes.

It has a single speaker at the bottom, which is decent enough.

Conclusion

The Oppo Reno8 5G is a great stylish smartphone that offers excellent performance and has solid cameras. The UI is great on an android phone. The downside is its lack of haptics and stereo speakers. It stands out from the previous versions.
