Safaricom Bonga Points is a loyalty scheme by Safaricom for all its PrePay and PostPay subscribers. The moment you subscribe to it, points start accumulating. This is done once you enroll via *126#. The following is a simple guide on how to activate, check and redeem Bonga points. You can also perform all this tasks on the safaricom selfcare portal.

Activation

Activation of Bonga points is done by dialing *126# and then following the prompts. After the successful registration, a text message will be sent to you confirming if it has been successful. Additionally, you will be awarded a few Bonga Points.

Setting up Your Bonga Points Pin

This process is for PrePay clients only. For PostPay, clients should call customer care via 200.

Therefore, to avoid someone transferring your hard earned Bonga points, you can set up your pin by following these simple instructions;

  • Dial *126# and then pick option 5.
  • Choose “Set New Pin”.
  • Enter national ID or passport number.
  • Key in last direct top up amount.
  • Key in Pin and confirm it.
  • Press ok to finish the process.

How to Check Bonga Points

To check the number of Bonga Points that you have amassed over a period of time, just dial *126# and the pick option 2.

Redeem Bonga Points

You can redeem safaricom Bonga Points for free internet bundles, SMS, airtime, minutes, MMMs, tablets, phones, Kenya Airways tickets, and various other accessories and promotions.

To Redeem your Bonga Points, simply dial *126# and select option 4. Moreover, you can redeem your Bonga points at any Buy goods and Lipa na Mpesa merchant and select Paybill numbers.

How to Sambaza (Transfer) Bonga Points

To be able to transfer you Bonga Points, you first need to set up your Bonga Pin if you don’t have one yet.

Dial *126# and select option 6. You will then be asked to key in the phone number that you wish to transfer the Bonga points to. The smallest amount of Bonga points that you can send is 50.
