Design, Display and Performance
The Camon 16 Premier features a 6.9-inch LCD panel that refreshes at 90Hz. Having a high refresh display at this price point is impressive, and would definitely grabb a lot of attention.
There’s a side-mounted fingerprint scanner, along with dual SIM support. Overall construction is good for this price point—it’s glass front and back, with an aluminum chassis. There’s even a headphone jack.
The Tecno Camon 16 Premier has MediaTek’s Helio G90T processor under the hood with an Octa-core CPU that maxes out at 2.05GHz. The performance is quite impressive and the phone is able to handle day to day tasks with no lags.
The Tecno Camon 16 Premier runs on Android 10 and packs 128GB of inbuilt storage that can be expanded via microSD card (up to 512GB). It also comes with some 8GB of memory. This is really some good enough space to take care of the many photos and videos we take these days.
Cameras
Talking about the camera, the device has a dual 48MP + 8MP selfie snappers, kept in the pill-notch upfront. As for the rear camera setup, the Camon 16-premier has four modules which includes a 64-megapixel main lens, pegged with 8-megapixel 119-degree ultra-wide lens, a third 2-megapixel low-light lens and a fourth 2-megapixel depth snapper, coupled with 5-LED flashes.
In reality, there are only two cameras you’d need or use here in the main system: a 64-megapixel, f/1.9 main lens and an 8-megapixel ultrawide camera. The good news is both are pretty good at this price range. The main camera, in particular produces solid dynamic range and details.
Battery
The phone comes with 4,500 mAh battery, which is fairly enough to power the phone all day. The Tecno Camon 16 Premier supports proprietary fast charging. With fast charging capability the phone ca fully charge in under 45 minutes.
Bottomline
Tecno Camon 16 is a good smartphone. I would definitely recommend it to someone who needs a good camera smartphone. It is well built and appealing to the eye. The rear camera meets expectations so does the front-facing camera.
