There are not many on-demand delivery services in Kenya. As a result, it was great to have a sit-down with the COO of Sendy, the fast-growing app that connects motorcycle riders, pickup tracks, vans, and most recently taxis to ensure fast, same-day last-mile package delivery.
Late last year, Sendy was named the first recipient of Safaricom’s $1M Spark Venture Fund. We met up with Malaika to discuss how the company’s unique value proposition is changing delivery services in Kenya.
Sendy acts as a marketplace for courier providers. It has helped formalise the boda boda business and aggregate courier services. The e-Commerce platform also includes an API to ensure players offer premium delivery services to their shoppers.
