I finally got an opportunity to try out the ASUS UX305 Zenbook and I have to say, the experience was phenomenal.
If you’ve tried out the MacBook, you’ll be forgiven for mistaking it for an Apple device. Looking at the price tag however will quickly get you up to speed.
The premium finish on the Zenbook however clearly stands out. The thin and stylish look make the device look and feel elegant.
Damage Goes for about Kshs. 120,000

What We Think You Need to Know
Fashionably Thin and Light
This is one ultrabook that ladies and travellers that want to go as light as it gets will love. The 1.2Kg weight on the device is also a good reason why the device will be of particular interest to field workers and those who commute frequently.
No Compromise on Performance
Don’t be fooled by the thin form factor though. The device packs quite a punch in performance.
Tasks I normally undertake on my smartphone due to speed can be executed just as fast on the UX305.
The device boots in seconds and nearly as fast as it takes to unlock your phone screen. Even opening heavy files was a breeze. The 8GB truly delivers and you will no doubt notice how quickly graphics and HD content loads.
The Zenbook comes equipped with 128GB of high-speed SSD memory. This means you get fast load speeds on files of any type.
Did I mention the laptop is fanless?
Yes. If you’re used to noisy fans and crackling sounds coming out of your hard disk during loading, you’re going to love the Zenbook. I had to keep confirming the device was still on due to how quiet it was. Watching movies even on low volume was quite audible.
The Zenbook is also highly efficient when it comes to battery life. I was able to clock in over 10 hours of uninterrupted use with a single battery charge. It gives you a full day’s work without having to worry about running out of charge.
However for the same performance and elegance, you don’t have to dig too deep into your pocket to get the Zenbook. Compared to a MacBook Air which goes for not less than Kshs.180,000, the Zenbook is about Kshs. 120,000.
The ASUS UX305 Zenbook is no doubt a premium device at a very affordable rate. It delivers high performance while maintaining elegance. Don’t we all want that?
